We love our community!

Saturday, October 1st, 2011

Many thanks to all the wonderful folks who participated in our Learn 2 Sing 4 Free (L2S4F) program! We wrapped up our six-week program with voice teacher Randy Meyers, who shared with us the differences between a cappella styles and walked us through singing examples of the barbershop style. Although the L2S4F is over, we always encourage our friends in the community to join us at our weekly rehearsals – come to listen, stay to sing, you’re always welcome!

More Community Support

The Santa Cruz Gold Standard Chorus was out in full gear last night to support our newest member, Nick Roberto, who plays a supporting role in the current production of the Scotts Valley Performing Arts production of Annie Get Your Gun. And in the title role, long-time chorus supporter Zina Urquhart, who directs the choir at Santa Cruz High School. This pistol-packin’ lady is one ton of talent in a small package! And the rest of the cast keeps the show rolling and the applause coming throughout the night.

It was a gala event for the opening night performance, and we all had a wonderful time. We highly recommend that you make plans to see this delightful show before it closes – any Friday or Saturday night or Sunday afternoon between now and October 16th.
